How to Use a Body and Hair Mist
You don’t have to stop to smell the roses
Hey gals and pals!
If you’re anything like me at the top of the year, you may be looking for that one little thing to help kickstart those new good habits and keep you feeling fresh and motivated.
My secret weapon?
Smells.
It’s like magic. A spritz or two of my favorite fragrance can completely lift my mood and change my perspective of a situation. I love being told that I smell good and I’m not ashamed to admit that I go out of my way to ensure I always do. ;)
I’ve always been a certified perfume girly but I’ve recently been opening up to my other options. I dipped my toes into the pool of solid colognes which was a lot of fun but didn’t give me that ~aura~ that I can get with my perfumes and other spray-on fragrances. Recently, I’ve been exploring the world of body mists and I think I’ve found myself a happy medium.
What is body spray?
Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a lovely, smelly (in the good way!) concoction that you can spray on your body! They have a much gentler concentration of essential oils than your eau de toilette or eau de parfum which means a lighter spray that you can reapply throughout the day whenever you need a pick-me-up!
When do I use a body spray?
Whenever you want! That’s the beauty of it. With a staying power of about an hour or so, you are free to re-spray throughout the day. You even have the option of swapping up scents within the same day. For best results, you can spray on a body mist when you’re right out of the shower when your skin is clean and still a little damp and your pores are open.
As with any fragranced item, there is such a thing as “too much of a good thing” so while you can mist up every hour or so, do make sure you’re not overdoing it lest you give yourself a headache! (Not fun. Trust me.)
Body spray best practices
If you want to make sure your collection of delicious scents lasts all the way to the last delicious drop, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re storing your body sprays properly. This means in cool places that are out of direct sunlight like in a closet or drawer when they aren’t being toted with you in your bag.
It’s also important to watch where you spray! You’ll wanna skip on spraying the more delicate parts of your skin such as your face and scalp. If you’re looking to spray a little extra on your clothes, it’s recommended that you do a little test in a hidden part of your outfit to make sure you’re not going to stain it (a vibe ruiner for sure).
