Do I need to Exfoliate?

A quick and dirty guide on how to unclog and declutter

Clutter.

We all know it.

We all hate it.

Yet at some point or another, we have allowed clutter in some way, shape, or form take over and overwhelm us.

So while we’re in the season of spring cleaning, I thought it could be a nice little exercise for us to go through a few small steps we can take to stay on top of the mess. It all starts with just a little intentionality.

Mellow your mind

We live in a world of distractions. It can seem like everyone and everything is fighting to catch your attention and even though your mind is a wonderful and complex machine, it can absolutely be pummeled by all of this input leaving you feeling tired and burned out.

Carving out some time to go for a little walk outside or to spend time doing a fulfilling hobby can give your mind an opportunity to clear its cache, as it were, and keep you feeling centered and focused.

Filter your feed

They say you are what you eat, and that applies to what you consume on social media too! This may be a good time to take stock and ask yourself the question: does this make my life better? Yes, gossip sites and shocking headlines can be thrilling, but they’re a breeding ground for negativity and black and white thinking. Ask yourself: how do I want to fill my cup?

Take a couple minutes a day to go through your follows. Make sure you’re the one in control of what you get to see.

Bolster your body

I cannot overstate the impact that regular exercise has had on my body and mind. It’s made me both physically stronger and more resilient in my daily life. But if that sounds like a little too much for where you’re at, you can start with simple stretches to get you started on clearing out those pesky aches and muscle knots.

Purify your pores

Your skin is a natural producer of sebum, which helps to protect and naturally moisturize your face. And while it is a great addition to your skin barrier, it also can attract dirt and dust which love to build up in your pores. A daily pore cleanse with something like the INNISFREE Volcanic Calming Pore Clay Mask will help you get rid of dead skin cells.

But of course, sometimes a deeper clean is necessary. You can exfoliate with the INNISFREE Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X one to two times a week to really give your pores a good cleaning and to smoothen your skin.

If you’re looking for something even more lightweight but with as much exfoliating power, look no further with INNISFREE Super Volcanic Clay Mousse Mask 2X.

It may help to think of exfoliation as an exercise in decluttering - it’ll take care of all the little bits and pieces that build up over time, giving you a fresh start, a clean slate, and a better base for a clear complexion

Consistency is key

Whether you’re curating a “good vibes only” social media feed, starting your day with stretching, or deep cleansing and tightening your pores - the consistency is key. Doing a little bit every day will keep you from having to do a complete overhaul every few months.

Don’t think too much about it. Just get started. You’ll see - it’ll take care of itself.
