Are you slowly noticing "freckles" or even “age spots” on your skin?
For most of us, the first indicator of a person’s lack of sleep or stressful schedule or sub-optimal diet is our skin. In this day and age, there’s a lot we can do to hide the effects of these events but our skin can tell no lies.
There are, unfortunately, no shortcuts when it comes to taking care of yourself (remember that!). Learning to properly meet my needs has been one of the best time investments I’ve made in my adult life. A close second has been learning about how to better care for my skin.
What are blemishes?
The largest contributing factor to dull skin is blemishes. What type of blemishes, you ask? Literally any type. We could be talking about dark spots, hyperpigmentation, age spots, large pores, sun spots or melasma, and acne scars. Anything that causes discoloration or flaws on the skin is also responsible for your dull skin.
Unfortunately, there isn’t one magical ingredient that can take care of all these different types of blemishes.
But I do have a little trick up my sleeve.
As far as I know, there is no real way to fully erase blemishes from your skin, but the right ingredients - and moreso the right mix of ingredients - can play a big role in reducing their appearance to leave you with clear, glowing skin.
Know Your Vitamins
Niacinamide (vitamin B3)
This is the superstar of many skincare products - and for good reason! Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 which does wonders for evening your skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help tamp down on redness and minimise the appearance of pores. Some research has also found that it can lighten dark spots and signs of sun damage like fine lines and wrinkles. More than improving the overall appearance of your skin, niacinamide also encourages your skin to rebuild itself and retain moisture.
Panthenol (vitamin B5)
This little number is a soothing ingredient. Its usual targets are skin redness as well as skin irritation caused by small nicks in the skin or conditions such as eczema. Panthenol also acts as a supercharged version of hyaluronic acid (HA), attracting moisture to the skin and helping to keep that moisture in for a plumper, healthier look and feeling.
Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether (vitamin C)
I think everyone here knows that vitamin C is good for our health, right? But how does vitamin C work for our skin? Vitamin C has been shown to brighten skin complexion, improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and overall skin texture by boosting collagen production. It can also help protect the skin from harmful UV rays when combined with sunscreen.
Now if you’re wondering how to balance these three ingredients to achieve bright skin, let me offer up the Brightening Pore Serum - a high performance blemish care serum clinically proven to help you achieve brighter and clearer skin in just 4 weeks. 10.1% of this product is the triple vitamin derivatives which work in unison to bring out your natural glow. The hero of this product is the Jeju hallabong peel extract which helps to firm and clear skin!
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: brightening products should not be about lightening the tone of your skin. The point of a brightening product is to reduce the appearance of blemishes to leave your complexion looking more even and balanced.
Quit hiding! It’s time to glow.
