You Look Like Sheet

What’s the point of a daily sheet mask?

It’s the end of the year, and things are feeling HECTIC.

You’re frantically wrapping up the last projects at work before rushing off to clear your annual leave, not to mention all the get-togethers you’re being invited to as old friends come back to town to visit. Don’t forget all the present shopping you need to do before the big day rolls around!

Does this story sound familiar?

It’s definitely a situation I seem to find myself in at the end of every year, and, despite my best efforts, the first signs of stress always seem to show up on my face.

Skintelligence

The last time we talked about sheet masks, I mentioned off-handedly that some folks swear by using one a day. While I know that many of you may think you would never be that *extra* but after doing a little experimentation of my own, I’d say, “don’t knock it till you try it.”

Your skin can sometimes know what you need better than your silly brain does, and when you’re putting yourself through the paces, it can be nice to have a little extra help. Wait a little too long and fine lines, wrinkles, and rough skin can start to rear their ugly heads.

Do me a flavour!

So you’re in the market for some sheet masks to keep you looking fun and fresh this season - I’m excited to share that innisfree has just introduced some brand new ingredients to their most popular (and most affordable!) Squeeze Energy Mask line,  formerly known as the My Real Squeeze Mask EX line!

Talk about taking things up a notch further, the line now has an improved formula with 10% more essence than its predecessor, and a brand new look.  Let’s have a taste, shall we?

Soothing Centella

This water-type mask is infused with centella asiatica extract that has soothing properties, which will help address the signs of troubled skin, such as calming inflamed skin and redness.

Clarifying Kombucha

Give yourself a fresh start with this water-type mask. Rich in vitamin B, its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties will get you back on the path to glowing skin.

Healing Heartleaf

This essence-type mask helps comfort stressed skin tired by external factors - think acne, rough & dehydrated skin. It is imbued with the protective properties of heartleaf (houttuynia cordata), an effective humectant to increase hydration by trapping moisture within skin!

Youthful Yuzu

Light up the room with this brightening cream-type mask, and enjoy some anti-ageing benefits while you’re at it too! Infused with yuzu extract, rich in vitamin C, this mask teases out your natural radiance and combats dull skin.

While these new ingredients may be the talk of the town, the line is still rich in old favourites such as rose, açai berry, aloe, and green tea - so don’t worry if you don’t see your go-to listed here!

Mask Appeal

Regardless of your skin type, there is a mask out there for you! At their core, sheet masks are great for hydration and for giving your skin a chance to take a break. The goodness-soaked sheet part of the mask takes over the role of skin moisture barrier, so for those 15-20 minutes you’re chillin’, your skin can focus solely on absorbing nutrients and beneficial ingredients.

Do make sure you unmask after the 20 minutes are up! If the mask dries out, it can have a reverse osmosis effect - and that sheet sitting on your skin will start taking the moisture back!

After the year you’ve had, you certainly deserve a little treat!

Remember, a sheet mask a day keeps the wrinkles away! ;)
